Pardot Integration Setup with Tourial
The Pardot Integration Setup with Tourial involves connecting your Pardot account by authenticating via Salesforce and entering your Business Unit ID, creating a Marketing App Extension named "Tourial" with the API name "TourialView," setting up Pardot Form Handlers (not regular forms) for lead capture, and configuring a custom subdomain in Tourial to serve content from your own domain to enable contact-level engagement data tracking.
There are 2 Core Integrations with Tourial and Pardot:
- 1.Lead Forms
- 2.Engagement Data
For both of these you will need to begin by setting up the connection between Tourial and Pardot.
Connecting Tourial and Pardot
Setup in the Tourial App
Step 1: Connect your Pardot account to Tourial
From your integrations page, click Connect to begin the authentication process and connect your Pardot account to Tourial.
Then enter your Pardot Business Unit ID.
You can find it by following the instructions below:
- 1.Log into Salesforce using the same account you use to log into Pardot.
- 2.Click on the Setup tab.
- 3.Find the Pardot dropdown and click Pardot Account Setup.
Once submitted, you'll be asked to sign into SFDC (Pardot) account to finish the authentication process.
Step 2: Create a Marketing App Extension
Before turning on Engagement Data in Tourial, you'll need to create a Marketing App Extension with the following parameters:
- Extension Name: Tourial
- Extension type/API Name: TourialView
Note that these parameters are case-sensitive and need to be entered in exactly as shown or the integration will fail. Please make sure that you’ve entered these parameters exactly as written here.
Step 3: Create your Pardot Form Handler
Like all Pardot Form integrations, you'll need to use Pardot 'Form Handlers' instead of regular Pardot Forms. Pardot Form Handlers are leveraged by APIs/Integrations - regular Pardot forms are not.
Note: You must be a Pardot Administrator or Marketing role to create Form Handler.
Step 4: Choose your subdomain and add it to Domain Setup in Tourial
You must be an admin in your account to complete this step.
To receive contact-level Tourial engagement data via Pardot, you'll need to serve your Tourials from your own domain rather than the Tourial domain.
First, you need to decide what you'd like your custom subdomain to be. For example, tours.yourcompany.com or tourial.yourcompany.com.
This subdomain can only be used for your Tourials and should not be used for anything else.
Note: Visitors will not interact with the subdomain itself; creating it simply allows you to serve the tour from your domain rather than Tourial's domain.
In the Tourial app, click on the user icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen and head to Domain Setup.
Once there, you'll see a field where you can enter your subdomain; note that you do not need to include "https://" or "www".
Note: Your CNAME record will point to [youraccount].tourialdns.com
Setup with your Domain Provider (DNS)
Step 1: Configure CNAME Record
Once you've determined a subdomain, you'll need to log in to your domain provider and point a CNAME record for your chosen subdomain to [youraccountname].tourialdns.com.
For example, a CNAME record for the account, Acme (acme.com), where they've chosen the subdomain to be "tours" would be:
- Subdomain: tours
- CNAME: acme.tourialdns.com
Setting up a CNAME record works a little differently depending on your hosting provider (GoDaddy, HostGator, etc.). Below are guides for some common providers:
- Add a CNAME record in GoDaddy
- Edit a CNAME record in HostGator
- Updating CNAME in Domain.com
- Set up a CNAME record in NameCheap
- Add new DNS record in BlueHost
- Create a CNAME in CloudFlare
- Create a CNAME record in Google Domains
If you need assistance setting up a CNAME record and pointing it to Tourial, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or email support@tourial.com.
Note: If you had a Tour(s) embedded anywhere prior to adding a subdomain and configuring your DNS
The embed code changes once you've created a subdomain. So make sure you use the updated version wherever you have tours already embedded to ensure it properly loads from the new subdomain.

How to Create a Pardot Dashboard to Measure Tourial's Impact
The guide explains how to create a Pardot dashboard to measure Tourial's impact by first setting up a dynamic list that segments contacts who engaged with Tourials using specific filters (e.g., last Tourial viewed, company exclusion, session date, lifecycle stage), and then building reports such as a bar chart showing Tourial views by lifecycle stage over time to analyze engagement across marketing and sales stages.
Engagement Data with Pardot
After integrating Pardot with Tourial, engagement data from known contacts—such as Tourial name, completion rate, and form submissions—is tracked via cookies and displayed under external activities in Pardot contact records, enabling users to segment contacts, create lists, run engagement programs, and automate actions like sending emails or adjusting scores based on Tourial interactions.

The documentation explains how to create and connect a custom Pardot Form Handler to a Tourial form by mapping fields (including UTMs), styling the form, configuring confirmation settings, and testing the integration to ensure leads are successfully sent to Pardot.
Form Fails | Navless Product Documentation
Navless' Tourial sends email alerts to admins only for three specific form submission failures—Blocked Email, CAPTCHA enabled on HubSpot forms, and missing required fields—when using the HubSpot integration, while Marketo and Pardot users do not receive such alerts, and issues with field mismatches between Tourial and HubSpot forms can cause submission failures with internal notifications handled differently across integrations.
Engagement Data with Marketo
After setting up the Marketo Integration, Tourial engagement data—including detailed metrics like time spent, clicks, CTA interactions, form submissions, and Tourial metadata such as name, URL, IDs, and UTM parameters—will appear as custom activities in lead or person activity logs, enabling users to create targeted Smart Lists and workflows based on specific Tourial engagement criteria within Marketo.
